Le roman de Richard Matheson datant de 1954 va une nouvelle fois subir une adaptation cinématographie...
I am Legend est un roman racontant la vie de Robert Neville, seul survivant humain de la terre, essayant de survivre face à la nouvelle race dominante : les vampires.
Le livre de Matheson a déjà été à l'origine de deux adaptations : "The Last Man On Earth" (1964) avec Vincent Price et "The Omega Man" (1971) avec Charlton Heston.
Pour cette nouvelle version, les studios Warner Bros ont confié la réalisation à Francis Lawrence (Constantine) et le rôle principal à l'acteur Will Smith. Le projet étant assez vieux, plusieurs personnalités du grand écran avaient été pressenti, notamment Ridley Scott, Arnold Schwarzenegger et Michael Bay.
Tournage prévu début 2007 à New York.
